What this is for. Up to two fees can come off a card sale. Your card processor, Stripe or Square, always takes its processing fee. On the Free plan, OneDive also takes a platform fee. Neither is added to the customer's bill: the customer pays your price, and the fees come out of what lands in your account.
Two fees, from two different companies
- The processing fee is Stripe's or Square's. Your processor charges it for running the card, at the rates in your own agreement with them. OneDive doesn't set it, doesn't see it and doesn't show it. Your Stripe or Square dashboard lists it on each payment.
- The platform fee is OneDive's. It is a share of each card payment that OneDive runs through your Stripe or Square account. Today it is … on Free, … on Plus and … on Pro.
Free has no monthly price. The platform fee is how OneDive is paid on Free. Plus and Pro have a monthly price instead: … for Plus and … for Pro.
Which payments carry the platform fee
- A card charged in OneDive: yes. That means a card typed in at the register, a card on the reader, or a card charged through Square.
- Cash and checks: never.
- Record card taken on another terminal: no. OneDive charges nothing there. It only records the sale.
- Store credit: no. When store credit pays part of a sale, the fee is only on the part paid by card.
- Online trip bookings: no. The Free plan's fee never applies to a booking. The diver pays a OneDive booking fee instead, shown to them at checkout, on every plan.
It is one rate for every card, with no extra charge for a card type. The fee is worked out on the card amount, tax included, and rounded to the nearest cent, so a very small sale can carry none.
How it is taken
Stripe or Square takes the platform fee for OneDive at the moment the card is charged, from that same payment. You never get a separate bill for it. What lands in your account is the sale, minus your processor's fee, minus the platform fee.
The receipt shows your price and the total the customer paid. Neither fee appears on it.
Refunds
- Refunded to the card: the platform fee comes back with it. A part refund returns the matching share.
- A card sale refunded in cash or store credit: OneDive keeps the platform fee, because the card payment itself was not refunded.
- Whether Stripe or Square return their own processing fee on a refund is up to them.
Is Plus cheaper for your shop?
Go to Settings › Subscription & Billing and choose Change plan. Under Estimate your platform fee, type what you take by card in a month.

- Estimate your platform fee. A quick sum. It changes nothing.
- Monthly volume. What your shop takes by card through OneDive in a typical month. Leave out cash.
- Free. What the platform fee would come to on that amount.
- Plus. The Plus monthly price, with no platform fee.
- The break-even line. Take more than this by card each month and Plus costs less than Free.
When you change plans
The fee follows the plan you are on at the moment of each card charge.
- Moving up from Free: the next card charge carries no platform fee. Sales you already made keep the fee they had.
- Moving down to Free: you keep your paid plan, and no fee, until the end of the period you paid for. The fee starts with the first card charge after that.
What happens next
- Not connected to a card processor yet? Get paid: connect Stripe or Square.
- Free, Plus and Pro: what each includes compares everything else the plans include.
