Before you startNothing

What this is for. Bookings through OneDive cost you nothing: your divers pay the booking fee. A trip or class booked through Shopify's cart pays OneDive nothing, so after your grace period OneDive bills you the same fee the diver would have paid. Once a month, never before the date on your banner, and only for those cart bookings.

What is billed

OneDive's booking fee is 1% of each class and 3.99% of each trip paid through your store's own checkout.

  • Only bookings after the date on your banner. Bookings paid through Shopify's cart before that date are never billed. The date is the end of your grace period; see Make your trip pages book through OneDive.
  • Only bookings paid through your store's own checkout. A trip or class you rang up in Shopify POS, or sent as a draft order invoice, is never billed.
  • The amount is the booking line after every discount, before tax, shipping and tips. A trip or class sold with a deposit is billed on the deposit. A refund lowers it.
  • Bookings paid in another currency are counted but not billed. The fee is in US dollars only. They show on the banner as counted, and never appear on a charge.
  • Months follow UTC. A booking late on the last evening of a month in the Americas counts in the next month.

Fixing your pages stops new cart bookings from adding fees. Bookings already made after the date are still billed, and a shop that chose Keep Shopify's checkout is billed the same way.

How you pay

  • A store connected through the OneDive app: your Shopify bill. You approve OneDive's booking fee charges once in Shopify, with a monthly limit, and the fee appears as one line on your Shopify bill each month. The banner and Settings › Online Booking › Make your pages book through OneDive show Approve OneDive's charges in Shopify. Choose Approve in Shopify, then Approve there. OneDive then checks your approval in Shopify and the page says Thanks. OneDive is checking your approval in Shopify. You only pay for cart bookings: there is no monthly price on this approval.
  • A store on its own Shopify app: the card on your plan. The fee is charged to the card you keep in Settings › Subscription & Billing, the same card as your plan.

The Billing card on the page above shows which way your shop pays, the amount due, and what happens next.

When

On the 3rd of each month, for last month. The 3rd gives late cancels and refunds from Shopify two days to arrive first. A booking made on October 20 is billed on November 3. The banner shows the date as Charged followed by the day.

If a charge doesn't go through

Nothing is switched off and nothing is lost. The amount moves to next month's charge, together with next month's fees. Each reason has one fix, shown on the banner with a button:

  • OneDive's charges aren't approved in Shopify yet. Choose Approve in Shopify.
  • The fees are over your monthly limit. OneDive asks Shopify for a limit that covers more than one month. Choose Approve higher limit and approve it in Shopify. The held amount moves to the next charge.
  • There's no card on your plan, or the card was declined. Choose Update card and add or replace the card in Settings › Subscription & Billing.

If OneDive gets no answer about a charge (Shopify or Stripe never says whether it went through), the amount is held and never billed again: OneDive checks it and settles it by hand. A charge being sent is held for five minutes, so two runs can never send it twice.

An approval you don't open in Shopify within two days expires. The page shows a current link whenever you open it. OneDive never puts the approval link in an email: the email links to the page.

Cancelled, refunded or waived bookings

  • Before the charge: a cancelled or fully refunded booking drops off the charge. A part refund lowers its fee.
  • After the charge: the fee comes back as a credit. It comes off your next charge, so you pay less that month. The banner says in credit from cancelled or waived bookings comes off this charge.
  • Waived by OneDive: if OneDive waives a booking's fee or a month, it shows as Waived and is not charged.

A credit nothing has absorbed after 60 days is refunded to the card on your plan, on a shop that pays by card. On a store that pays on its Shopify bill, OneDive applies it by hand as a credit toward OneDive's charges.

Billing history

Every cart booking appears as its own Booking fee row in Settings › Subscription & Billing under Billing history, with its trip or class, the rate and the amount it was billed on. The row shows how it was paid (Shopify bill or the card) and its status: charged, owed, Waived or Credited. A fee later credited shows as a second row, so you can follow every dollar.
