Make your trip pages book through OneDive

How-to

A red banner in Settings › Online Booking means some trip or class pages still sell through Shopify's cart. Switch each in a minute, or call us and we'll do it.

What this is for. Bookings through OneDive cost you nothing: your divers pay the booking fee. A trip or class booked through Shopify's cart pays OneDive nothing, and it reaches your register as a plain sale, with none of the diver's details. From the date on the banner, those cart bookings are billed to your plan at OneDive's booking fee: 1% of a class and 3.99% of a trip. Never before that date.

Only your owner and General Managers see this. The banner, the strip on the register and the page behind them show for those two roles. Everyone else at the register sees nothing.

What the banner tells you

The red banner at the top of Settings › Online Booking says Some of your bookings aren't going through OneDive. Under it, in plain numbers:

  • The bookings. How many orders went through Shopify's cart, since when, and what they came to. Only orders placed on your online store count, and only while the page was still on the cart. An invoice you sent from Shopify, a Shopify POS sale, a sale from another channel, and an order placed after the page already showed the Book button aren't in these numbers. A cancelled or refunded order drops out, and a part refund lowers the total.
  • The money. What those bookings came to, after any discount and less any refund.
  • The pages. How many trip and class pages still sell through Shopify's cart, and how many pages on sale can't book online (see below).

The banner appears with the first email OneDive sends you (see "The email we send"). Once it has, it also shows the date from which cart bookings are billed. In the last week it counts the days down: 1 day until Shopify cart bookings are billed.

OneDive checks your store every 15 minutes. When every page books through OneDive, the banner turns green by itself with Every trip and class books through OneDive, shows once, and goes away. There is nothing to press.

On the register, a one-line strip with Fix it in 5 minutes says the same in a sentence. Choose × to hide it until tomorrow.

Choose See why and how to fix it to open Settings › Online Booking › Make your pages book through OneDive. It lists every trip and class page on your store with its status and what to do:

  • Shopify's cart (red). The page still sells through Shopify's cart. This is the one to fix.
  • Can't book online (amber). OneDive can't take a booking on this page yet. See "Pages that can't book online" below.
  • OneDive is switching it (grey). OneDive moves this page to the Book button itself. You do nothing.
  • Needs attention from OneDive, we're on it (amber). OneDive's to fix, never yours. It never counts against you.
  • Books through OneDive (green). Done.
  • Not on your store (grey). The page isn't published, or is hidden, on your Shopify store.

A page that OneDive hasn't turned online booking on for yet isn't listed.

Switch a page in Shopify

OneDive switches your own trip pages on Default product for you. These steps are for the pages it can't switch: ones on another design, or on a store that uses its own Shopify app.

For each page marked Shopify's cart with a fix of In Shopify, set Theme template to onedive-tour.

  1. In Shopify, open Products and click the trip.
  2. On the right, under Theme template, pick onedive-tour.
  3. Click Save. Repeat for each red trip above.

Only the booking area changes. Titles, photos, descriptions and prices stay as they are. Within 15 minutes OneDive reads the page again and its status turns green.

Can't find onedive-tour in the Theme template list? Your theme doesn't have that page design yet. Do steps 1 to 4 of Put your trips on your Shopify store first.

Your store uses its own Shopify app? Paste the updated booking card into your trip page design first. The card and the steps are in Settings › Online store › Trip page guide. The fix page shows this line for your store.

Use an AI assistant

When a page needs its Theme template set, the fix page shows Have an AI assistant in your browser? with a box holding a ready prompt. Choose Copy prompt, then paste it into an AI assistant that can drive your browser while you are signed in to Shopify. It tells the assistant to open each product, set Theme template to onedive-tour, save, and then check each page shows the Book button instead of Add to cart.

The prompt holds only your store's name and address and the titles of the pages to switch. It has no link, password or key in it, so it is safe to paste. Look over what the assistant did when it's finished: the fix page turns each page green within 15 minutes of a good change.

The email we send

The first time a booking goes through Shopify's cart, or we find pages that sell through it or are on sale but can't book online, your shop's owners get an email from OneDive. If no owner has an email address on file, your General Managers get it instead. The banner appears at the same time (unless you chose to keep Shopify's checkout), and that day starts your 60 days. If we can't reach anyone by email, your 60 days start the first time an owner or General Manager sees the banner.

After that:

  • At most one email a week while bookings keep going through the cart.
  • One more if a page you fixed slips back. It doesn't start a new 60 days.
  • One reminder about a week before billing starts.

Reply to any of them, or call us at (352) 501-9334, and we'll do it for you.

We can do it for you

Call us at (352) 501-9334 and we'll switch the pages with you. The banner and the fix page both have the number: Call us and we'll do it.

Pages that can't book online

A page marked Can't book online is on sale in Shopify, but OneDive has nothing to book on it. Each one has its own fix:

  • Online booking isn't set up. Finish online booking setup in Settings › Online Booking. See Get your shop ready for online booking.
  • No class cancellation policy. Add it in Settings › Online Booking › Class cancellation policy.
  • The trip isn't online, or the course isn't listed. Turn on online booking for the trip, or list the course online and keep it active.
  • No price. Set a price in the POS.
  • The season is over. Add new dates, or take the page off sale in Shopify.
  • No dates. Add dates in the POS, or take the page off sale in Shopify.
  • No trip size. Set a trip size on its dates.
  • Every date is full. Add a date, or take the page off sale in Shopify.

A page that already shows the Book button, but is full or has no dates right now, is shown amber for your information. It has no Add to cart, so it is never counted as a problem.

Two more fixes show up when the page sells through the cart because of a setting: Turn on Trips on your store in Settings › Online store, or Turn on Book with OneDive on your class pages there. If it says your trip page design doesn't show the OneDive card yet, follow Settings › Online store › Trip page guide.

Keep Shopify's checkout

If you would rather keep selling trips and classes through Shopify's cart, choose Keep Shopify's checkout at the bottom of the fix page. It asks Keep Shopify's checkout for trips and classes? and says what you give up:

  • Trip bookings arrive as plain sales that staff add by hand.
  • No per-diver details, seat holds, group seat sharing or booking page.
  • No Cancel booking with refunds.

OneDive puts the trip and class pages it switched back on Shopify's cart at the next sync, within 15 minutes.

You still get the first email, and a reminder before billing starts if bookings are still going through the cart, because cart bookings are still billed after your 60 days. You don't get the weekly emails or the slip-back email.

The banner is then off and the page says The banner is off. Bookings paid through Shopify's cart are still billed to your plan at OneDive's booking fee from the date on the banner. Changed your mind? Choose Book through OneDive again and the banner comes back if a page still needs fixing.

Good to know

  • Why a page you just fixed is still red. OneDive checks every 15 minutes. The banner says when it last checked.
  • Class pages that OneDive is about to move to the Book button itself show OneDive is switching it: see Class pages on your Shopify store.
  • The numbers only count your online store's cart. Orders from invoices, Shopify POS and other channels are kept for OneDive's records but never counted for you or billed.
  • Back to the start: Put your trips on your Shopify store.
