Before you startNothing

What this is for. OneDive is where everything you sell lives. Your Shopify store follows it: change a product, a price or a count in OneDive and your store catches up within 15 minutes. The page opens with one line that tells you whether your store is in sync. When OneDive can work something out, it does. When it can't tell what you meant, it asks you instead of guessing.

What the line at the top means

Go to Settings › Online store. The line at the top is always in one of five states.

In sync

"Your Shopify store is in sync with OneDive." Your store carries the same products, prices and counts, and OneDive checks every 15 minutes. Under the line, Nothing needs you means OneDive has no questions right now. Check again now starts a check straight away, so you don't have to wait for the next one.

Things need you

"1 thing needs you before your store is in sync." The line says how many, and how many store products OneDive matched on its own. The rest are listed below it as questions. Answer each one and the line turns green. If no switch is on under What syncs, the line reads "Store sync is off." once you've answered them, and OneDive takes it from there.

OneDive is adding your store's products

"OneDive is adding your store's products." Your store has products OneDive doesn't have yet, and OneDive is creating each one with its name, SKU, price, photo and count. The line counts products, not variants or rows, and OneDive does this whether or not a switch is on under What syncs. Until the next check starts, it says "OneDive adds them at the next check, within 15 minutes." Once it is under way, it shows how many are done out of how many. You don't need to stay on the page. "You'll see it here, and in your notifications, when it's done." While it works, What's happening to your store sorts your store's products into three groups: already in OneDive, being added, and will need you. Nothing changes on your store during this.

A sync stopped

The line says what stopped and how long ago, for example that your store stopped getting product updates. The line also tells you whether everything else is still in sync. After repeated failures, store sync stays paused until you press Run now. Under How to fix it are the steps for that problem, with a button when there is one to press, such as Run now to check again. If you get stuck, call OneDive at (352) 501-9334 and we'll walk through it with you. If OneDive can't reach your store at all, nothing reaches it until that is fixed. Nothing is lost: orders placed meanwhile come in once it is.

Store sync is off

"Store sync is off." No switch is on under What syncs, so OneDive sends no counts, orders, trips or classes to your store. It still adds your store's products on its own: "OneDive adds your store's products, but sends no counts, orders, trips or classes until you turn a switch on under What syncs." Turn a switch on under What syncs and OneDive keeps your store in step with what you sell.

The questions OneDive asks

Most questions are about one store product. The sizes question is about two or more. Only the owner or a General Manager can answer. Everyone else sees the question under "The owner or a General Manager answers these." with no button.

Whose count is right?

OneDive already counts this item, and your store sells it in choices, such as sizes or colors, each with its own count. Pick one answer.

  • Keep OneDive's count. OneDive keeps the count it has. The first choice gets all of it, and the other choices take your store's counts. OneDive adds the choices with it.
  • Use your store's counts. OneDive replaces its count with your store's, split by choice, and adds the choices.

Your store's counts are offered while stock counts are sent to Shopify. With five or more of these, they come as one table, with Keep OneDive's for all and Use the store's for all at the top. You can change any count at the register afterward.

Which OneDive item is this store product?

Your store has a product that looks like an item you already have, because the SKU, barcode or name matches. Pick the item it is, or add it as a new item.

  • Link to this item. OneDive treats the two as the same product, so the price and count stay the same in both places.
  • It's neither, add it as a new item. OneDive makes it a new item at the next check, within 15 minutes.

Which OneDive choice is this?

Your store sells a product in choices, such as sizes, and one of them could be more than one of the choices OneDive has. For each, pick the OneDive choice it is, or add it as a new choice. A choice you pair keeps OneDive's SKU, price and count. A new choice starts at your store's count while stock counts sync, and at 0 otherwise. Your store's titles, photos and prices don't change.

Are these two store products one item in two sizes?

Your store lists the same product as separate products, one for each size. In OneDive, one item with a size choice is easier to count and reorder.

  • Yes, one item with sizes. OneDive puts the sizes on one OneDive item as its size choices. If none is linked yet, you pick the item.
  • No, keep them as two items. OneDive keeps them as separate products and won't offer them as one again.

"Either way, both stay on your store exactly as they are." Your store's pages, prices and counts don't change.

What OneDive does on its own

You don't answer for these.

  • Adds products that are only on your store. Each one comes in with its name, SKU, price, photo and count. It does this with every switch off too, checking every 15 minutes. A store product whose SKU OneDive already sells is never added a second time, and a product with too many choices can't be added this way. The page names how many OneDive couldn't add, with how to get help, and OneDive tries them again each week, so one you free up, such as by changing the SKU of the OneDive item that blocked it, gets added.
  • Adds your store's choices to a product OneDive hasn't counted. There's no count to protect, so there is nothing to ask.
  • Takes your store's count for a product OneDive never counted. OneDive has no count of its own to keep.
  • Checks your store's product list every hour. A product that appears on your store later is picked up and either added or asked about.

After that, OneDive is the one place you change a product, a price or a count, and your store follows.

If something looks wrong

If the line says something stopped and the steps under How to fix it don't clear it, or a question says OneDive couldn't save your answer, call OneDive at (352) 501-9334 and we'll walk through it with you.
